Some 400 trees will be made available to Knoxville citizens next week.

City Manager Harold Stewart announced the acquisition Monday.
The trees were obtained through the Iowa Department of Natural Resources and Iowa Forest Nursery as part of Earth Week in April. 200 trees were acquired for free then the city bought an additional 200 trees at a cost of $130.
They’re bare root trees, meaning they’re not in dirt so they must be planted within a day or two of their arrival.
Stewart says anyone interested in obtaining trees should contact City Hall. A link to the city’s website with information on the trees is available Knoxville Tree Giveaway.
