A good night was had by the boys and girls in blue on Thursday, as the Twin Cedars baseball and softball teams emerged victorious over Moulton-Udell. On the hardball diamond, a seventh-inning score was the difference in a 2 – 1 win by the Sabers. Otis Roby was the winning hurler, giving up only two hits and an unearned run with 14 strikeouts. Trace Embray scored the game-winning run on an RBI groundout by Roby in that seventh frame. Saber softball walloped Moulton-Udell, 5 – 1. Mackenzie Sedlock pitched a complete game, allowing eight hits, an unearned run, and walking none. The Saber offense belted ten hits, led by Bailey Dunkin’s 3-for-4 night at the plate. Saber baseball improves to 4 – 0, the softball is now 2 – 3, and each squad has a tournament coming up on Saturday for their next tests of 2015; the boys are at Wayne, and the girls go to Oskaloosa.
