A motion to suppress evidence has been filed in the case of a Monroe man accused in the death of a Knoxville motorcyclist.
33-year-old Michael Lee Liggett has been charged with four felony counts, including operating while intoxicated, reckless driving, and leaving the scene of an accident, in the vehicular homicide death of motorcyclist Clayton Bennett Harsin in August of last year.
According to the defense motion, samples of Liggett’s blood were taken to check his Blood Alcohol Content, before a search warrant requesting them was obtained. The motion also claims Liggett’s home was entered and searched without a warrant in place.
A hearing on the motion is scheduled for Thursday, Sept. 24th.
