Nominations are officially being accepted for the next Tulip Queen and Royal Court.

Steering Committee Chair Amy Van Haaften tells KNIA/KRLS News high school seniors living in the Pella Community School District and attending Pella High, Pella Christian, or home school qualify.

“The girls are ambassadors for Pella,” she says. “They represent the community, they put together a program and travel around Iowa, and promote Tulip Time.”

Ballot boxes are located at the Pella HyVee, Pella Fareway, Marion County Bank, and Pella Historical Society. Nominations should include the name and address of both the nominee and nominator.

Nominees must:
– be a high school senior
– be 17 years old by May 1, 2016
– have a permanent home address in the Pella School District
– live with a parent or legal guardian
– be unmarried

All of those selected will also have their pictures posted on our website. The deadline to drop a ballot of at one of the locations is on Tuesday, September 29th at 4:30 p.m.
