With a chance to complete the season sweep and pick up their second straight Pride of Iowa conference win in a row, the Trojan girls could not find enough offense to overcome the Blue Devils of Martensdale-St. Mary’s last night and would fall 37-33.

It looked like the Trojans would have control of the game after a first quarter which yielded an 8-1 Pleasantville lead. The Blue Devils came roaring back in period two however outscoring the Trojans 17-3 and taking an 18-11 lead into halftime. The teams would play evenly in the second half, but the lack of consistent shooting would doom the Trojans, and they fall to 4-12.

The boys came out firing and not looking back, running out to a halftime lead 35-20 and saw eight different players score. Brady Elder would lead the team with a quiet 20 points, and Mac Harken followed up his 22 point performance against Clarke with a solid 12. Head Coach Joel Allman said that his boys did a great job at executing the game plan tonight. The win would bring the Trojans to 11-4 and they would clinch first place in postseason district 12, as well as set up a huge matchup against Lenox this Friday that will be a game for first place in the Pride of Iowa Conference.
