The City of Pleasantville made a request for funding from the Marion County Board of Supervisors for the reconstruction of the Jasper Street section of G-40 in Pleasantville which is in disrepair.

City officials displayed slides showing cracks, potholes and uneven stretches of the road. Pleasantville is asking for about $900,000, which is 22% of the overall project cost. The rest of the money would be from city funds and assessing property owners adjacent to the road. After hearing arguments from Pleasantville officials and the County Engineer, the board moved to table the vote until their next session. The Supervisors will use the time between meetings to discuss and research possible funding sources before taking an up or down vote.
