The Iowa Department of Education recently released data showing the percentage of students struggling to reach reading proficiency for most school districts in the state.
Superintendent Greg Ebeling tells KNIA/KRLS News of the districts listed on the report, Pella 3rd graders had the lowest percent of struggling readers in Iowa.
“It shows the hard work of our teachers–they’re working on literacy, they’re working on all the things they need to do to help catch all kids. Even though 12.8% is the lowest, we can do better,” Ebeling says.
