One woman was injured in a crash after she drove into a utility pole northeast of Pella.
Pella Rural Fire and Pella Ambulance responded to a white car that had left the roadway on Old Highway 102 and Bayard in rural Mahaska County just after 10:30 Wednesday morning. Upon leaving the roadway, the vehicle hit and snapped a power pole, causing the lines to fall on the car and on the highway.
The driver, who was able to place the 911 call, was transported to Pella Regional Health Center with minor injuries. A utility company responded and shut down power so crews could safely remove the unidentified woman from the vehicle.
The Mahaska County Sheriff’s Office is handling the investigation.
