Knoxville High School has broken the $80,000 fundraising mark for the second year in a row for Coaches Vs. Cancer.

The school has led the effort nationally for three years and came close to last year’s all-time record of $87,597. Coach Jim Uitermarkt tells KNIA/KRLS just over $80,000 was raised this year. Jim and Angie Uitermarkt have coordinated the event for eight years and have been assisted by individual efforts from all over the community. More than $17,000 of the total was contributed by the Knoxville Cancer Relay.
