Sheriff Jason Sandholdt tells KNIA/KRLS News that as the snow melts and the weather warms Marion County residents should take precautions when burning on their property.
Sandholdt says that making sure that there are enough people and equipment to control the fire and that winds are calm will go a long way towards unnecessarily calling out the Sheriff’s Deputies and Fire Departments across the county. The Sheriff asks that individuals performing burns report the time and details of their plans to their local dispatch office, so that emergency calls about fires can dealt with efficiently.
