As we near the last week and a half of the session, the Iowa House of Representatives shifts their focus to items that need last minute attention.

Iowa Representative Guy Vander Linden tells KNIA/KRLS news the House and the Senate have agreed on budget targets and will now start to work on dividing it up.

“When you get to this time of year there’s always a few surprises. It’ll be interesting to see what happens with the Standings Bill which is the final bill that comes out with all the things that people have forgotten or wish they had forgotten about earlier in the session. That can sometimes be pleasant and sometimes less so,” says Vander Linden.

He also stated he is optimistic they will adjourn near the scheduled date of April 19.
