Two people were arrested after attempting to pass counterfeit currency at numerous businesses in Pella.

Forty-eight year old Jake E. Puckett and 31 year old Jacob V. Puckett each are charged with two counts of forgery, class D felonies. According to police, the Pucketts are accused of attempting to pass fake $20 bills at numerous local businesses earlier this month.

The nature of the calls from businesses reporting the bills led officers to believe that an active and ongoing forgery operation was taking place. Investigators followed up on that information and reviewed security footage to locate the suspects.
