Two men were arrested over the weekend for attempted murder. Court records indicate that Keaton Riley Armstrong, age 18, from Indianola and Dalton Aurik-Wade Sharp, age 19, of Melcher Dallas met with their victim in the early morning hours of Saturday, April 30th and attacked with what court records describe as a “blunt object” and with the intent to rob the victim.
KNIA/KRLS News has learned that the blunt instrument was a baseball bat. The Marion County Sheriff’s Office learned of the struggle and found blood and the weapon northwest of Knoxville that morning. Further investigation showed a victim had been airlifted to an emergency trauma center in Des Moines. That person is in serious, but stable condition at a trauma center. Armstrong is charged with attempted murder, robbery in the 1st degree, and willful injury-causing serious injury. Sharp is charged with attempted murder, robbery in the 1st degree and assault while participating in a felony.
