It’s tick season, and Marion County Naturalist Marla Mertz tells KNIA KRLS News as people begin to enjoy the outdoors this year they should take extra precautions against ticks.

Mertz suggests wearing pants, long sleeves and light colored clothing to deter ticks. The Center for Disease Control says to always inspect for ticks after walking the woods, and consider using an insecticide that contains DEET. For other tips on tick control go to KNIA/KRLS.com/ click here.
