Qualifying last week and also earning at-large bids to Des Moines, Pella Christian’s girls’ and boys’ track and field team will also mix their maroon with the blue at Drake Stadium today. The girls qualified four events, only one of which will be on display this morning. Evie Armstrong in the Class 2A 100 meter dash preliminaries will run in the second heat. Armstrong is one of only six freshmen that qualified in the event in Class 2A, and she’ll be the only ninth-grader in her heat. For the boys, Eddie Pringle will run in the 200 meter dash preliminaries as a junior in lane number one; but, before that, he’ll try to conquer the long jump in the finals at 9:00 a.m.
Soccer will also be in competition tonight; the boys are at home versus Dallas Center – Grimes in a big conference test, while the girls are on the road versus the Fillies.
