The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Lake Red Rock will once again hold day camps this summer for elementary age children.

Park Ranger Tracy Spry says sign ups are open for the Junior Rangers and Outdoor Adventurers programs. Junior Rangers on June 16th and July 21st is for kids 8 to 10 years old who want to learn what it’s like to be a Park Ranger. Outdoor Adventurers on June 17th and July 22nd is for kids 11 and 12 years old looking to engage in basic wilderness skill training.

Junior Rangers (pre-registration required)
Thurs., June 16-9:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. or Thurs., July 21-9:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m.
Attention boys and girls! If you are between the ages of 8 and 10 years old and would like to learn what it’s like to be a Park Ranger at Lake Red Rock, sign up for one of these day camps. Take a tour of the Red Rock Dam, explore a wetland, hike a prairie and more.

Outdoor Adventurers (pre-registration required)
Fri., June 17-9:00 a.m-3:00 p.m. or Fri., July 22-9:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m.
Boys and girls ages 11-12 years old: Have fun learn-ing how to build a fire, make an emergency shelter, perform basic wilderness first aid, learn basic GPS skills, and paddle a kayak.
