A six-run explosion in the second inning hoisted Melcher-Dallas Softball Squad to a 9-3 win over Northwood-Kensett on Saturday. Melcher-Dallas scored in the second on a two-run single by Mackenzie Godfrey, a two-run double by Sydney Suntken, an R-B-I single by Angel Beaty, and an R-B-I single by Kirsten Mull. Suntken racked up two RBI on two hits for Melcher-Dallas Saints. Emilie Krpan struck out six hitters en route to the Saints win. Krpan allowed two earned runs…eight hits and one walk over seven innings. In the second game Melcher-Dallas beat Lake Mills 7-3.
The Saints pulled out the win thanks to a strong third inning. Melcher-Dallas went up for good on a two-run single by Sam Selby scoring Sydney Suntken and Emilie Krpan. Krpan racked up four RBIs on four hits. She allowed three runs over six innings, struck out three, walked one and gave up 10 hits.
