Thursdays in Pella this week will celebrate local people making a difference in the community.

The theme this evening will be hometown heroes. A presentation of the colors, gun salute, flag folding demonstration and more will be hosted by the American Legion on the Tulip Toren at 6:30 p.m. Other activities include writing letters to soldiers, fingerprinting and badges by the Pella PD, and trucks on display from Pella Ambulance and Pella Fire.
