For the first time since May, precipitation and soil moisture has been reported near normal conditions in Marion County.
According to the latest U.S. Drought Monitor, the abnormally dry conditions previously reported in the county are gone in all but a small section of southeast Marion County.
Short-term, moderate drought conditions were reported in June and July, but plenty of rainfall in the past six weeks has helped restore moisture back to normal.
Last night, anywhere between a trace and just over a half an inch of rain was reported, with Lake Red Rock receiving .51″ of precipitation.
Abnormally cool conditions will persist through the early part of next week.
