Pleasantville Schools
The Pleasantville bond issue has unofficially passed by two yes votes and three absentee ballots that were uncounted were not postmarked by the correct date, making them invalid according to Marion County Auditor Jake Grandia.
The bond issue requires 60% of the vote to pass and at current totals it has 60.13%. If the passage is made official on Tuesday, $6,355,000 in general obligation bonds will be issued for construction of 10 new elementary classrooms, structural updates and a cafeteria. Pleasantville Superintendent Tony Aylsworth says he is impressed with the support the community has shown for education. KNIA/KRLS News will provide updates on the election as soon as results are made official.
