After a 3-0 start to the season, the Pleasantville Trojans will have face another tough class 1A test when they take on the Des Moines Christian Lions at home tonight.
The Lions are coming off a 72-0 loss to Pella Christian, and will be fighting hard to avoid a disastrous 0-2 start to their district season. Pleasantville had a slow start in their district opener on the road against I-35 last week but fully recovered on route to a 33-7 victory, but will have to avoid the same slow start if they want to get past the Lions.
The powerful Trojans rushing attack, which has three different players averaging over ten carries per game, will be key for a Pleasantville victory because it keeps the ball out of the hands of dangerous Lions quarterback Nathan Herbers. Pleasantville Head Coach Gabe Bakker said in practice this week the main focus was on stopping the dynamic QB.
The game will be broadcast live on KNIAKRLS.com via the KNIA3 stream and our free KNIA3 mobile app with Andrew Swadner and Ron Danks on the call. The Iowa State Savings Bank Radio Pregame Show starts at 6:30, with kickoff scheduled for 7.
