Senior tight end Mitchell Boerm of the Central College football squad was named to the Academic All-America Division III football team as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America earlier this week.

Boerm was named to the second team with a 3.76 cumulative grade point average while majoring in biology.

An all-Iowa Conference first team selection, Boerm started all 10 games at tight end for the Dutch. He finished the year with 383 receiving yards on 25 catches with a pair of touchdowns.

It is the 53rd time that a Central student-athlete has received academic all-America distinction and the 13th time the honor has gone to a member of the Dutch football team.
