A nutrition program being used at Hy-Vee can help parents chose healthy food for their kids as they head back to school. That’s according to Knoxville Hy-Vee registered dietician Denise Boozell. She says the “NuVal Nutritional Scoring System” easily translates nutrition information into a number between 1 and 100 with the higher the number, the more nutritious the food. Boozell says the system makes it easier to compare various chips, granola bars, and other common snacks kids take to school.
