The Pella City Council will review the renewal process for the Pella Convention and Visitors Bureau contract at policy and planning following their regular meeting Tuesday.

City staff brought the matter to the council’s attention after the Pella Chamber of Commerce became the Pella Area Community and Economic Alliance. The city council originally made an agreement to provide 60% of the city’s hotel-motel tax revenue to the Chamber to operate the CVB, which exists as a separate entity within the PACE Alliance. City staff is seeking the council’s direction as to how to proceed with the renewal of the current contract, which expires at the end of the current fiscal year. The Pella City Council meeting begins at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the Public Safety Complex on Liberty Street.
