In a visit to Pella this week, Congressman Dave Loebsack spoke about efforts to repeal and replace the Affordable Care Act in the House and Senate this year.

Loebsack says after the recent attempts by the Senate failed, he says many bipartisan efforts are emerging to stabilize markets and fix some of the problems with Obamacare.

“Some of us [in the House] were not only talking to our own people but those across the aisle in the event that effort failed–it did fail,” he says. “I think that it looks like now that’s not going to get resurrected but we’ll see. I hope the president will back off, and I hope some of those folks in the Senate will back off, because what the American people want, what Iowans want, what people tell me they want is to fix the Affordable Care Act.”

Loebsack is hopeful the bipartisan efforts continue into a quick turnaround for legislators when they return to Washington D.C. in September before returning to recess later that month.
