After a season of sky high expectations during last summer’s training camp, there are more questions than answers for the Pella Christian football team as this season draws near.

With the best senior class in program history graduating after the best season since Eagles football started 14 years ago, a large shadow has been cast on the group training for week one this year.

Head Coach Rich Kacmarynski tells KNIA/KRLS Sports that last year’s sky-high hype was difficult to manage, and the new challenge this year will be the amount of holes to fill from that squad–but it’s a challenge he’s confident this group can overcome.

“This year there’s a lot of uncertainty about who’s going to be starting and things like that. We’re not quite as set at the roster spots as we were a year ago. But we have a great spirit on this team and I’ve been very appreciative of our senior leadership. We have a real blue collar mentality, which in the long run will take us a long way.”
