Local marching bands competed among the best in central Iowa at the Urbandale Marching Invitational this past Saturday.
The Pella Marching Dutch received the highest score of any class, winning the 3A competition and earning top color guard and drumline. Knoxville and PCM also competed among 19 other ensembles, with the Marching Panthers placing 8th in 3A and the Mustangs placed 3rd in 2A.
Pella travels next weekend to the Valleyfest competition on Saturday, October 7th, while the Mustangs and Panthers next compete at the state contest in Pella on October 14th and all three schools at the Mid-Iowa Band Championship in Ankeny later that evening.
