In most sports, at most events, Pella Christian is among the smallest schools to compete. The script is flipped tonight when Eagles cross country teams head to Montezuma.

Pella Christian will be among the larger schools at the event, and coach Jocelyn Meinders says that it’s a great tune up for next week’s Little Hawkeye Conference meet.

“It’s a great chance for them to really work on certain aspects of their race that they really need to fine tune. Each kid, I’ll ask them ‘Okay, what are we working on for your race here?’. And then they can really just hammer down and work on that and fine tune their race to get it where they want it to be before conference.”

Meinders says that the Montezuma course is challenging because of the hills, and specifically the fact that the largest hill is right before the finish line.

Action starts at 4:30 at Montezuma Country Club. Twin Cedars is also participating in the meet.
