Despite dreary conditions, breast cancer survivors, their friends, families, and medical professionals all participated in the annual Pella in Pink 2K Saturday morning.

Pella Regional Health Center held the walk and run in conjunction with Breast Cancer Awareness Month activities. Becky Rozenboom was diagnosed earlier this year, and tells KNIA/KRLS News she was overwhelmed by the support of those closest to her and all that turned out for the event.

The Pella and Pella Christian cheer squads help set up the staging area at the Tulip Toren. Paint the Stands Pink at Pella Christian will be this Friday for senior night against Central Decatur, while Pella’s event was postponed to the October 20th regular season finale against Nevada. Fans are encouraged to wear pink to both games, and poms, stickers, and other pink accessories will be available.

KNIA/KRLS, Pella Regional Health Center, Knoxville Hospital and Clinics, and Marion County Public Health are partnering together for the 2nd broadcast of the KNIA/KRLS Breast Cancer Awareness Radiothon this Thursday from 4 to 7 at Knoxville Hospital and Clinics.
