The Knoxville Chamber of Commerce has four new board members filling four previously vacant seats.
Filling two terms running through 2019 is Megan McKay, Owner of Peace Tree Brewing Company and property owner of “26 Properties,” and Hannah Vander Veer, Marketing Associate at Peace Tree Brewing Company. Filling two terms that run through 2018 are Maggie Hamilton-Beyer, CFO at Knoxville Hospital and Clinics, and Sara McKay, General Manager and Owner at Cobblestone Hotel & Suites. With the four seats now filled, the Knoxville Chamber of Commerce is back to a full board, with all nine seats occupied. In addition to overseeing the activities of the Chamber, the all-volunteer Board of Directors will tackle projects that affect the community dealing with tourism, economic development, chamber membership and government relations. The Chamber wishes to thank all the nominees who volunteered for this role.
Acting President Ben Butler is also currently forming the Nomination Committee for board member elections for the 2020 terms. Any chamber members or employees of chamber members that are interested in running for one of the three seats are encouraged to contact the chamber office to pick up a nomination form and request a follow up with someone from the nomination committee. All chamber members in good standing will receive a ballot, with an alphabetical listing of nominees later this month. Members may also write in the name of a current member in good standing as a candidate. The election ballot will be sent by mail and must be returned by the designated deadline.
