Central College tries to bounce back from last week’s loss to Wartburg when they head to Cedar Rapids this afternoon to battle defending league champion Coe.
Dutch head coach Jeff McMartin says that his team was down after their 44-20 setback to the Knights, and he spent the aftermath reminding the guys not to let the loss linger.
“The things that we could control, we’ve controlled. I haven’t noticed anything with the players at practice as far anybody not being focused or working hard. I think the enthusiasm has been good. Now we need to go out and execute.”
Both teams are desperate for a win today. Central is 3-3 overall and 2-2 in the Iowa Conference. Coe is 3-2 overall, 1-2 in the IIAC, and lost back-to-back games to Simpson and Wartburg before last week’s bye.
Kickoff today is at 1:00 at Clark Field in Cedar Rapids. Trevor Castle and Cory Houser will have the play-by-play, beginning with pregame coverage at 12:35.
