With a win against Woodward-Granger, the Pleasantville Trojans could secure a playoff spot as the runner-up in class 1A district 5. However the Hawks had something to say about that, as they upset #7 Pleasantville in 2OT 27-24.

The game started off slow, with neither team able to get any offense going as the only score was a Hawks pick-six interception heading into halftime. Pleasantville finally got going in the third, with quarterback Owen Worthington hitting Hunter Tyree on a 29 yard touchdown strike. With a 7-6 lead and less than two minutes in the game, Cael Lester scampered for a 46 yard touchdown run to seemingly seal the game in the Trojans favor.

Once again, the Hawks refused to go away as they scored on their first offensive play on a 48 yard touchdown pass, then converted the two point conversion to force overtime. The teams traded touchdowns in the first overtime, while the in second Pleasantville was forced to settle for a field goal. The Hawks then scored on their first play of 2OT to win the game.

Pleasantville Head Coach Graig Eichenberger told KNIA/KRLS sports, that despite the loss and the Trojans no longer in control of their own postseason destiny, they are going to get past the loss and move forward. The Trojans fall to 6-2 on the season and 4-2 in district play, and will travel to Central Decatur next Friday.
