Pella Regional Health Center has announced that Peggy Hofer in Surgery is a DAISY Award recipient.

The DAISY program is a national award, given at the local level, to registered nurses who exemplify extraordinary nursing. The focus is on the special touches and human consideration that these nurses give to their patients.

Excerpt from Peggy Hofer’s nomination:
“I have never seen Peggy do anything but 110% for patients and their families even if it means extra work for herself. She always does it with a smile and compassion. She treats everyone like they are part of her family. She goes above and beyond every day to make sure each patient and family member feels understood and cared for. At any moment another nurse needs help; she’s the first one to make herself available. You rarely see her sitting unless she is charting quickly before going into another patient’s room. She is someone many look up to.”
