Sam Norgaard, John Alberts and Mark Fairley of Central College were all honored by the Iowa Conference yesterday as Athletes of the Week.

Norgaard earned co-defensive player of the week in football after racking up 22 tackles, the fifth most in school history, in Central’s 30-19 win over Coe.

Alberts booted three field goals in that game, and is now a perfect 11-for-11 on the season. He was named special teams player of the week for the third time this year.

In men’s cross-country, Fairley was selected as the runner of the week after clocking a season best time of 25:21.75 to finish sixth place out of 350 competitors Saturday at the Jim Drews Invitational in La Crosse, Wisconsin.
