Local high school dance teams received high marks at the Iowa State Dance & Drill Team Association state competition.
Pella Forte received the Academic Excellence Award, 1st Place Large School Military, 2nd Place Class XI Pom, and 3rd Place Class III Kick.
The Knoxville Dance Team received an Academic Excellence Award based on the dancers’ cumulative GPA and the team was recognized for Outstanding Community Service. The team was also awarded Division I ratings for all three routines.
The Pleasantville Dance team was awarded the 1st place championship trophy in Class 1 Color Guard, a 1st place Championship in Class II Novelty, and a 3rd place trophy in Class VI Pom.
Pella Christian SHINE received a Division One Rating in all three routines they performed in jazz, lyrical, and pom.
Twin Cedars brought home 2 Division ratings for both their routines in Hip Hop, & Pom.
Central College received 1st in Hip-Hop, 1st in Jazz and 2nd in Pom in the Division III College competition.
Melcher-Dallas and PCM also all competed at the state contest.
