A Knoxville man received two years probation following a plea agreement in federal court in July of this year.

Rick Van Donsler, 59, of Knoxville pled guilty in federal court to one count of possession of a prohibited firearm. Court records indicate Van Donsler was found to be in possession of a Colt .38 Detective Special handgun with an obliterated serial number. As a part of the agreement, Van Donsler agreed to forfeit the gun and also must pay a fine of $5,000.
