Students graduating from and previous graduates of Knoxville High School continuing their education are eligible for a $500 scholarship if they complete an application.
Kurt Froyen of the Knoxville Panther Scholarship Foundation tells KNIA/KRLS News last year saw record-breaking applications for the scholarships. The foundation gave out 187 scholarships, more than any previous year of their now 14-year-old program. Froyen, who taught at Knoxville High School for 30 years, says the foundation wants students to have the best educational opportunities they can and hopes they will remember the generosity that makes the scholarships possible. He says many previous recipients have donated to the foundation. All who apply will receive a scholarship. The deadline is March 1. For more information click here for the Foundation website.
