Exactly one week after getting swept at home by the Kohawks, the Simpson Storm Women’s and Men’s Basketball Teams traveled to Cedar Rapids Saturday afternoon and returned the favor to Coe College, with the women winning 64-61, and the men 67-62 in a pair of close games.

The women traded blows with the Kohawks, and with injuries and sickness, before a clutch three banked in by Maddie Simmons put the Storm ahead for good. Simmons had a career high 14 points, and Noreen Morrow led the team with 16. The Storm improve to 7-10, and 4-4 in the Iowa Conference. The Men’s game had Simpson with a slight lead for the majority of the contest, with the Storm answering every run the Kohawks had. Ryan Skaar hit a jumper to put the Storm up five with less than 30 seconds to go to seal the win, and the Storm move back to .500 in the Iowa Conference at 4-4, with an 11-6 overall record. Both Storm teams play a makeup game against Buena Vista on Monday night.
