Fifth grade students had the opportunity to participate in the American Legion’s flag essay competition.

Steven Gaul was the overall city first place winner and Alexis Klein the overall second place winner, and both attend Jefferson Intermediate. Noah Nunnikhoven of Pella Christian earned 3rd place. Steven, Alexis, and Noah will read their essays at the American Legion meeting on Monday, January 30th at 7:30 p.m.
