Multiple emergency crews responded to a fully-engulfed structure fire north of the Mile Long Bridge early this morning.
Monroe Fire Chief Robbie Wilson tells KNIA/KRLS News Monroe Fire and Rescue was dispatched just after midnight to 1351 Dubuque Drive for a fire at a building used for agriculture-related purposes.
Pella Rural Fire and Knoxville Rural Township Fire were called for mutual assistance to help deliver water.
Nelson says the building was a total loss. The homeowners told KNIA/KRLS the structure was typically used to house animals during the warmer months of the year, but none were inside at the time of the blaze. No injuries were reported.
The cause remains under investigation.
