The Pleasantville Trojans split the boy girl doubleheader with the Mount Ayr Raiders Friday night as the girls would fall 81-30 but the boys would win 61-43.
In the girls game the Trojans would stick around in the first half playing a very tenacious 2-3 zone defense that would limit the Raiders scoring. The Trojans just could not buy a basket on the offensive side as they were led in scoring by Kelsee Van Haalen with 10 points. The Trojan boys’ didn’t know what really to expect coming off their worst loss of the season to the I35 Road Runners on Tuesday, a game they lost at home by 28 points. Coach Joel Allman had his guy playing in a methodical method as the Trojans would slowly extend their lead throughout the game leading at half by 24 points. The Trojans would have both Brady Elder and Devin Dursky lead the way with 12 points each and have four different Trojans score in double figures. The Trojans will now turn right around and take on Bedford on Saturday before hosting South East Warren on Monday. For coach Allman its important for his team to get on a run before post season play but more important just to play good. Pleasantville and Bedford tip off tomorrow at with the girls game first at 5 p.m.
