Knoxville’s boys bowling team has qualified for the state tournament, while Pella’s Jaden Ruth will represent the Little Dutch as an individual.
Bowling at Escape Lanes in Pleasant Hill, the Panther boys had the top 5 individual scores en route to 2,772 team score, nearly 300 points better than runner-up Bondurant-Farrar. Knoxville was led by Cole Murphy with a 406 series.
Pella Christian’s boys were third with a 2,190, led by Mac Sarver’s 318 series.
In the girl’s event, Knoxville finished second and Pella Christian was fifth. The Eagles top score was a 265 series from Amanda Harrill, while Knoxville was led by Chalee Kaestner with a 335 series.
At the 2-A meet in Ottumwa, the host Bulldogs claimed both the boys and girls team bids.
Pella’s Ruth shot games of 257 and 233 for an impressive 480 series, good enough for an individual berth.
The boys state meet will be held next Tuesday at Plaza Lanes in Des Moines.
