Pella High sophomore Emily Holterhaus has announced her intentions to further her volleyball career at the University of Northern Iowa.

Holterhaus was fifth in class 4-A in kills and seventh in blocks as she helped the Lady Dutch to the first state championship game in program history in 2016.

She was named first team all-state by the Iowa Girls Coaches Association, and she was the only sophomore among the 28 players chosen among the first team, second team and honorable mention.

Holterhaus is currently in the middle of basketball season, and is the leading scorer and rebounder for a Lady Dutch team that is ranked fourth in class 4-A as they get ready to start down the tournament trail this weekend.
