After splitting their season opening games on Saturday, the Central College softball team won a pair Sunday to improve to 3-1 on the young season.
The Dutch won a wild 13-12 decision over Stevens of New Jersey, then never trailed in a 5-3 win over Division II Minnesota-Crookston.
Central trailed Stevens 11-7 after three innings, but scored five in the fourth to take the lead. A sixth inning tally provided some cushion, as the Ducks scored one in the seventh and left the tying run on base.
Karly Olson delivered three hits in the game, one of four Central players to have a multi-hit game.
Mariah Fritz made her Central debut in the win over Minnesota-Crookston, and she earned the victory in the circle. Four Dutch players had a multi-hit effort in that game as well, with Tab Taylor’s three-for-three leading the way.
Central will play a pair of games today, against Dickinson of Pennsylvania and Eastern Connecticut State.
