The Red Rock Social Justice Advocates had a program in Pella Saturday featuring a former Democratic campaign staffer analyzing the Iowa Caucus and other political news.

Pat Rynard is the founder of the Iowa Starting Line. He spoke to a crowd of 30 about the importance of Democrats organizing election efforts, as the party remains in the minority at the federal and state level.

“The most important challenge right now on the left is just finding real, actual campaigns go to latch on to right now, to translate this energy into actual votes,” Rynard said. “At the end of the day, if you’re not raising money for a candidate, you’re not out knocking doors taking actual votes, there’s only so much you’re affecting.”

The Red Rock Social Justice Advocates meet monthly in the county.
