Knoxville Chamber of Commerce President Jacob Hughes is stepping down.

Hughes took over as president this past January, but will be making his formal resignation announcement this Wednesday at the Knoxville Chamber of Commerce board meeting. Hughes tells KNIA/KRLS News, former presidents Ben Butler and Annie Leonard made the job look easy, but due to time constraints he cannot continue in a leadership role. Hughes does plans to stick with the chamber in a volunteer role. Vice President Rick Kingery has agreed to assume the presidential duties for the remainder of Hughes’ term.
