The City of Pella has been recognized by a national outlet among the best places to visit in the nation.

Expedia listed the Tulip City as one of the country’s 30 most beautiful cities. Pella Convention and Visitors Bureau Executive Director Jill Vandevoort tells KNIA/KRLS News the community should be proud of efforts to maintain the city’s heritage and attractiveness to visitors.

“Obviously living here all of my life, and many other residents that are new to our community, as well as visitors as well would agree that Pella is one of the top 30 most beautiful communities in the United States, and we’re just happy Expedia recognizes us for that,” she says.

As part of the feature, Pella is described as bringing “colorful flair to rural Iowa,” with the Vermeer Windmill and Lake Red Rock also referenced.
