Event organizers are hard at work preparing for the unofficial kick-off to Tulip Time in Pella.
Crossroads of Pella Executive Director Jim Hibma says the not-for-profit is gearing up for the 24th annual Klompen Classic on Wednesday, May 3rd at 7 p.m. Hibma says they had nearly 2400 participants, with big milestones to cross this spring.
“This year, the 2001st registrant will be the 30,000th registration that we’ve had over 24 years,” he says.
He says proceeds benefit Crossroads of Pella.
“Crossroads has a variety of ways in which we help people,” Hibma says. “We have free counseling, after school kids club, substance abuse programs, Christmas programs, financial aid assistance–we have a lot of different ways in which we help people.”
Those who register for the 24th Klompen Classic by April 20th will be guaranteed a t-shirt, and the cost for each individual is $25 before race day. Find a link to the registration page at here.
