PCM’s Jamie Beyer has been announced as part of the 2018 Iowa State University Hall of Fame. Beyer was a standout track and field athlete for the Cyclones from 1997 to 2000.
His accomplishments include
Runner-up national champion in the shot put at the 1999 NCAA Indoor Championships
Five-time Big 12 Champion
Won three Big 12 Indoor shot put titles (1997, 1999, 2000)
School-record holder in the indoor shot put (64′ 1″)
Third-Team CoSIDA At-Large Academic All-American in 2000
Silver Medalist in the shot put at the 1999 Pan American games
Placed fourth in the shot put at the 2002 USA Outdoor Championships
Ranked in the top-10 in the world by Track & Field News in 2005
Seven-time All-American (shot, weight, discus)
The Iowa State Hall of Fame was established in 1997 and 182 Cyclone legends have been enshrined. Induction into the Hall of Fame is the highest honor bestowed upon the Iowa State Athletics Department and decided by an 18-person selection committee.
