Thirty two of the best Division III softball teams in the country are gathered in Tucson, Arizona this weekend for the NFCA Leadoff Classic.

After a month’s worth of early morning indoor practices on campus, the Central College softball team finally got onto the dirt yesterday, and today, they open the 2018 season against a pair of highly ranked opponents.

The Dutch are ranked 21st in the country, and will play sixth-ranked Trine and 11th-ranked Christopher Newport in the first two of six games at the Leadoff Classic this weekend.

Like Central, Trine is making its season debut today, while Christopher Newport is off to a 3-1 start.
